Drug/Alcohol Policy

TWAC CASCADIA aims to set the platform with which an intentional safe(r) space can be co-created by organizers and participants alike. As you already know, this is a direct action camp–meaning–we don’t want to bring more attention to ourselves then we already are. Please refrain from bringing any illegal drugs to camp and using them publicly.

Regarding drinking and cigarette smoke. Come to camp and get oriented with where things are, however, there will be a rowdy fire and a quiet fire. The 2014 collective would like to suggest having drinking only occur around the designated rowdy fire and at your personal campsite (bring a buddy!). We also ask that you not offer alcohol to anyone whom you don’t already have that kind of relationship with–we want  to recognize the kiddos, underage folks and folks who may be recovering from alcoholism etc. Please keep your beverage contained and lets  make a space where as many people as possible can feel safe and comfortable.

For folks wanting something more quiet–we will have a designated quiet fire that will be a dry space. Likewise with smoking and consent, please don’t smoke cigarettes in workshops or communal spaces. We will have a smoking section that  will be designated. Regarding smoking around the rowdy fire: ask first!

Thank you all for helping TWAC Cascadia 2014 be a safe(r) space for all who attend!
